Hello, I am Makenzie Lehman and I am from Akron, OH. I grew up a few different places; Tallmadge, Richfield, Copley. However, for pretty much all of elementary school and high school I attended Revere High School. I am an Early Childhood Education major at the University of Akron.
For the past two years I've been working as a work study student at Leggett Elementary School., I am basically a teachers assistant and do whatever it is that she needs me to do. This ranges from copy and laminating, all the way up to, working the class if she needs to step out for a few moments. I work in a second grade classroom and really love that age.
On another note, I am also the oldest of five children in my family. I understand how that may not look like a huge responsibility, however, over the years I've had to participate as a third party parents for my siblings. Which I love, but didn't expect growing up.
As a future teacher, I want my classroom to be a safe place for my students. I want them to be able to leave their baggage at the door and be able to focus on learning in a safe environment. I want to offer each child the love and respect they deserve coming into my classroom. As well as, ensuring that I tend to each child's specific learning and assessing needs.
